It can be a powerful moment when someone acknowledges that they do not need social media sites, but have you ever realized that social media sites do NOT NEED YOU either?
I am not against social media, in fact I think the idea, though often abused by overuse, is brilliant! The problem can often arise when we live by our 'like' count, or how many friends we can attain -and we set ourselves up to feel as though we have an unspoken quota and internet expectation that we need to constantly be living up to. Before we know it, these quotas and expectations birth in us a subconscious weight that Facebook and Instagram somehow - need us.
This is not a call to cancel social networking - just an invitation to step outside and experience the people, places, cultures and life that exists around you. Take a step back from the computer, and communicate with the people that are around you. Take in and experience life for all of the potential that is within it.
In all of its years of existence, the world has never had anyone that is nit together quite like you - it would be a shame if such an intricate and essential blessing as you are, was stolen from the world by distraction. Live a life of wonder and vibrancy, knowing that your existence is full of unimaginable purpose.
See the beauty that is in life.
Acknowledge the creativity and wonder that is within people.
Welcome to the culture that was promised an abundant life.
